Spending our time searching and waiting to be loved, hoping that special love will find us one day. Feeling empty and lost without it, wanting someone to give us love and fill us up. Sadly to say, that’s not how life works. We will draw exactly what we create in life, and what we believe we are worthy of.
Personally, I like the illustration by Leslie Karen Lobell, M.A. in her blog - The Art of Loving. Our life is like a vessel, if we keep giving to others without giving to ourselves, it is like pouring water from a vessel and eventually, the vessel will be empty if we keep pouring and pouring without ever refilling it.
Used to think that by giving endlessly all we have is a way to show love, kindness and unselfishness. However, that's not true as it should be giving out from our surplus. Is only when we are overflow and that's when we will have the energy and love to give to the people who we love around us and to the world.
"We have to learn to be our own best friends because we fall too easily into the trap of being our own worst enemies." ~Roderick Thorp, Rainbow Drive
"Greatest Love of All" is an inspirational song beautifully delivered tribute to love ourselves for who we are written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed. The song was the fourth and final single released in April, 1986 from Whitney Houston's.
THE GREATEST LOVE OF ALL - Whitney Houston
I believe the children are our are future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone to fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
So I learned to depend on me
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
And if by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
